Watch: The Difference Between Messi And Ronaldo When They Lose

As the world's two greatest players for the last decade, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have had to perfect their 'happy loser' award ceremony face when the other one pips them to an individual award.

Last night, it was the Argentinean's turn to be 'happy just to be nominated' as Ronaldo claimed his second consecutive FIFA 'The Best' award, following a season where he inspired Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double.

Last year Ronaldo beat his foe and arch nemesis Messi to the title after he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and Portugal win the European Championships in France.

It's expected that the 32 year-old will follow up this success by beating Messi later in the year to the Ballon d'Or. Should he do that then he will draw level with the Barcelona forward on five titles each.

However, if the Portugal captain ends up coming up short at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, at least we'll get treated to his 'fuck being happy just to be nominated, I want to win every fucking thing, every fucking time' face that he has displayed during Messi's victorious years, as can be seen in the below video:

While Messi's face this year suggested he was actually alright with his Real Madrid counterpart scooping the award, Ronaldo never fails in showing how pissed off he is with taking a silver medal, which goes a long way to explaining the relentless run of success he has enjoyed throughout his career.

However, should the current campaign continue as it has started, with Messi already hitting 15 goals in his first 14 games of the season and Ronaldo struggling after a five game suspension, with the Portuguese goal machine only finding the net in La Liga once in five matches, it could be the Argentinean genius retaking the lead in the pair's decade long battle for supremacy.
